Hello Everyone,

How are the folks here in Ohio enjoying all the snow we have? I heard New York also got a lot of snow. I imagine the other northern states got quite a bit as well, but I haven’t heard. The snow we had on the ground has a coating of ice on top which makes for great sledding!

The safest place to go sledding is out in an open field where there is lots of room with no danger of ramming into something you’d rather not! One draw back about sledding so far downhill is you always need to walk all that distance back up again.

This morning we had 8° and a fresh light cover of snow. The sun is shining, but a little bit hazy. It looked so pretty the way it sparkled when the sun shone and the black branches of the bare trees looked like they were dusted with powdered sugar.

I found a recipe that is rather simple and thought you might enjoy:

Taco Rice Skillet by Mrs Mark Hostetler
• 1lb Hamburger
• 1pt Tomato Juice
• ½Pkg Taco Seasoning (or, if you have Ashery’s Own Taco Seasoning – 2 Tablespoons)
• 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
• 1cup Cooked Rice
• 1cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
• Lettuce
• Sour Cream

Brown hamburger, add tomato juice, taco seasoning, brown sugar & rice. Simmer 20 minutes. Put cheese on top, melt. Serve with lettuce and sour cream.
For a complete meal, I suggest also serve a side of steamed vegetables of your choice.
