Good Morning Everyone,

Warm weather comes and goes. Friday and Saturday were nice and warm, then yesterday we had an all-day rain and now it is cold again. I still believe warmth will come and stay for the summer sooner or later.

Last week a lot of plowing was done by farmers that use horses. A few things got planted in the gardens as well. The lawns are turning to that beautiful, lush green color and it will soon be time to start mowing again.

As springtime comes around, so do the weddings. Lord willing 3 weddings will be held in our church. One on April 21st, one in May, and one in July.

Last week at the church ladies sewing day that finished a beautiful, plain, off-white quilt that had a pattern of flowers entwined in a heart shape with a big hummingbird stitched inside, plus hummingbirds at the head of the quilt where they would lay on the pillows. The back side of it is pale peach, making it reversible.

Ladies sometimes plan to have a quilting in their home when they want help to get a quilt done and this week I am invited to one where some of my cousins are coming together to stitch, chat and eat. ☺

Date Pudding is a favorite among many families. Some years ago that was usually a staple in Amish weddings, but not anymore. It is quite labor intensive. I found a recipe for an apple pudding that you fix like date pudding. I’ll share it with you.

Apple Pudding

• 2 cups sugar

• 1 cup butter, melted

• 2 eggs, beaten

• 4 cups chopped apples

• 2 teaspoon baking soda

• 2 teaspoon vanilla

• 2 cups flour

• 1 cup raisins, cooked in as little water as possible then drained

Mix all ingredients together and bake in a 9×13″ greased cake pan at 350° for 50 minutes. When cool cut into cubes and layer in a bowl with whipped cream. Serve.

Optional: add a little sugar & vanilla to the whipped cream
