- Brown and wild rice pilaf is a blend of brown and wild rice seasoned with chicken broth, celery, carrots, onion, red and green bell peppers, tomato, spinach, garlic and sage to make this pilaf a healthy side dish for any meal. Use with chicken and steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
- Recipe: 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil, 1 cup rice blend, 2 ½ cups water or broth, (Salt & Pepper to taste). Heat oil in a large saucepan. Add rice and fry on medium high heat, stirring constantly, until lightly browned. Slowly add the water or broth. Bring to a boil, and then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 35-40 minutes. Remove from heat, keep covered and allow to steam for 15 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve. Makes about 4 servings (3/4 cup each).
