Good Afternoon Everyone,

We are having a wet day, heavy mist/light rain, and cool temperatures. Memorial Day was a nice, sunny, warm day. I enjoyed working in the garden – a satisfying vacation for me.

This letter is 2 weeks late as I spent some time at the marshes at Lake Erie enjoying the bird migration. We got to see lots of Warblers; some are very colorful. While on the boardwalk a Bay-Breasted warbler came to within 2 ft away from me. Imagine seeing 20 White Pelicans soaring around high in the sky – that was a sight to see.

At home the gardens are doing well. Lettuce is ready to eat. Rhubarb and Asparagus are plentiful. Of course, the weeds are also growing fast. Strawberries are also ready!

The farmers are baling green hay and wrapping it in plastic. They feed the cows fermented hay.

Willing Hearts Day Care Center will host a benefit auction on June 7th. Located on Moreland Rd. Fredericksburg, OH.

I saw a recipe for fresh strawberries. Slice them and layer them in between the toasted marshmallow and chocolate bar when making S’mores.

I think I would prefer a Strawberry pie with real whipped cream on top. 🙂

May you all have a wonderful Summer,
Sovilla
