  • Red Star Active Yeast is cake yeast in a semi-dormant state. After activating it provides ultimate baking activity in all yeast dough, from low sugar to highly sweetened breads. Red Star yeast is designed for yeast-leavened bread and dough. The finished product will have the flavor, texture and consistency associated with a yeast-leavened product. We suggest soaking in lukewarm water 2-3 min. before using.

    Q- What is the difference between Red Star Yeast and Saf-Instant? A- Red Star should be soaked 2-3 minutes before use. Saf-Instant does not need to be soaked. 1 teaspoon Red Star = 3/4 teaspoon Saf-Instant.
