  • Pearled barley is simply barley grains with the hull and bran removed. This grain has a sweet and mild flavor that tastes delicious in cold salads topped with vinaigrette, or even as a breakfast cereal topped with brown sugar. This grain can be used as a side dish in place of couscous, rice and pasta and is a classic ingredient in beef barley soup. It is considered to be an excellent ingredient for providing soluble fiber, which helps to reduce cholesterol in the blood. Contains low amounts of gluten.
