Good Morning,

Well, we are having a good, old-fashioned, snowy winter. I hope you all like snow. A fresh layer of snow on the ground, trees, and roofs always makes the countryside look so pretty.

These snowy days keep a lot of folks at home and that is the reason the store has not been so busy. If anyone likes to shop without having the isles crowded now is the time to come; especially during the week.

The Tool Showcase is located on the auction grounds in Mt. Hope with 120 vendors and 12 educational seminars. It will be held on Thursday, February 15th, from 2pm – 7pm, Friday, the 16th, from 7am – 7pm, and Saturday, the 17th, from 7am – 1pm.

The Holmes County Home & Garden Show will also be held at Mt. Hope on March 1st – 3rd, Thursday pm – Saturday pm.

Last Sunday, our church held baptismal service for 2 boys and 3 girls. A lot of relatives/extended family came to show support and love, which was greatly appreciated. We had approximately 170 people. Then on Friday evening, the youth had an evening of knotting comforters for relief.

Here is a recipe that I found in Plain & Simple magazine that sounds like a good dessert/treat for a Valentine’s supper.

Fat Buster Brownies

• ½ cup suncanat

• ¼ cup coconut oil

• 2 large eggs

• 1 teaspoon vanilla

• 1/3 cup cocoa powder

• ¼ cup whole wheat pastry flour

• ¼ cup almond flour

• ¼ teaspoon baking powder

• 1/8 teaspoon salt

• 1/3 cup bittersweet chocolate chips

• ½ cup walnuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease an 8×8 square pan. Combine first 5 ingredients and blend well. Mix the next 4 ingredients in a separate bowl then add to the wet ingredients and mix well. Mix in the chocolate chips and pour into prepared pan. Sprinkle the walnuts on top. Bake for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Enjoy!

Have a Blessed Day,

Sovilla
