Good Afternoon Everyone,                                                                          11.15.21

Wow! It is the middle of November already and we had our first real snow yesterday. Soon after lunch time it came down quite fast! The grass was covered. It looked so pretty, almost like a Christmas card scene.

Are you folks all ready for winter? Although I understand the folks way down south don’t get as much snow and cold as we do in OH. The leaves still on trees have turned to a rusty brown color. The gardens have been put to bed, which means the carrots and red beets are covered and the lid of the small hotbeds are closed.

Now is the time to focus on sewing projects, etc. The church ladies had their first sewing day last week since summer has ended. The corn has been picked, now the horses have more leisure time to graze out in the pasture all day long.

Events and activities become less as winter progresses. At Mt. Hope a mid-Ohio annual Standardbred Yearling Sale will be held on November 26th-27th. On December 11th is the monthly horse sale. Tis The Season Christmas shop has sale days on November 22nd-24th. Located 1 mile east of Berlin. On November 1st a new business, Farmhouse Furbabies, opened in Millersburg.

Here is a cookie recipe that is more like a protein ball than a regular cookie. All the ingredients are available at the Ashery Store.

Hunger Buster Cookies

1 cup extra fine almond flour (not blanched)

3 tablespoons whey protein powder (bulk)

2 tablespoons cocoa or carob powder

¼ teaspoon Himalayan pink salt

¼ teaspoon baking soda

¼ cup extra virgin organic coconut oil

¼ cup maple syrup

½ teaspoon pure vanilla

¼ cup small semi-sweet chocolate chips

Mix first 5 ingredients then add the rest. Drop onto a greased cookie sheet with a small cookie scoop, flatten only slightly. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Yield: 15 cookies Optional: if you prefer a white cookie rather than chocolate omit the cocoa and add 2 more tablespoons of the whey protein powder. Enjoy!

If you would like to see what the cookies look like, see the picture above.

…”the Lord of Israel is He that giveth strength unto His people. Blessed be God.” Psalm 68.35

I hope you all will have a grateful Thanksgiving Season,   Sovilla
